What kit do I need? How do I fuel for the distance? What’s the best way to raise funds for my charity? If you’re taking on the TCS London Marathon and are a little stumped as to where to start, you’re not alone – and our experts are here to answer your questions!

At our annual Meet Our Experts event, you’ll gather all the information and advice you need on footwear, nutrition, fundraising, injury prevention and more, leaving you feeling confident and excited about your unforgettable 26.2-mile challenge.

Don’t miss out on expert marathon nutrition advice from Anita Bean, an award-winning sports nutritionist and author who will be at Meet Our Experts to provide top tips on how to fuel your long runs and what to eat to prepare for your marathon.

Top coach Martin Yelling will be at Meet Our Experts to offer you lots of helpful training tips, advice and reassurance to make sure you arrive at the Start Line feeling fit, raring to go and ready to take on your 26.2-mile challenge.

Dave Lock

Team Captain of Samaritans – Charity of the Year for the 2024 TCS London Marathon

Dave Lock, otherwise known as ‘Samaritans Running Telephone’, will lead Team Samaritans at the 2024 TCS London Marathon. Having completed more than 34 marathons and raised nearly £50,000 for Samaritans, Dave will be at Meet Our Experts to share advice on how to get the most out of your fundraising.


Nicky Edwards

Physiotherapist

Nicky has almost 20 years' experience as a physio and is a keen runner. She will be at Meet Our Experts to give you advice on how to keep free of injuries during your marathon journey.


Eimear Donnelly

New Balance - Apparel Product Specialist

Eimear will be at Meet Our Experts to provide advice on how to find the right kit to wear for training and on Marathon Day.


Emon Choudhury

Marathon runner and charity ambassador

Emon will offer advice to all first-time marathon runners, sharing his experience of what has worked well for him – as well as what to avoid – when it comes to marathon preparation.


Expert advice in one place

In addition to our speakers, specialists in physiotherapy, psychology, training, nutrition, and hydration – including our partners Buxton Water, Lucozade Sport and Coopah – as well as past participants and London Marathon Events staff are always on hand at Meet Our Experts to answer your queries.

Charity participants also have the chance to pick up top fundraising ideas from Enthuse, our official fundraising platform partner, and speak with representatives from a wide range of charities.

It was a fantastic experience to reinforce what I already knew, teach me what I did not know and motivate me for my training – thank you.

At Meet Our Experts you’ll get an exclusive first look at New Balance’s TCS London Marathon training collection, which will help you look and feel the part during training and on Marathon Day!

You can also pop over to New Balance’s flagship store on Oxford Street to speak with New Balance footwear experts, have your gait checked and find out how to pick the kit that’s best for you.

I really enjoyed the focus on getting us to the Start Line and the tips to see us through to the Finish Line. As a first-time marathon runner, I found this a motivating and inspiring event. Super excited for Marathon Day!
